West Seattle Vacant House Fire Cause is Still Under Investigation
January 14— A West Seattle House fire is still under investigation by Seattle Fire Investigators. Firefighters were called to the 3500 block of SW 97th Street at 11:38 p.m. Engine Company 37 arrived to find heavy flames shooting from the boarded-up home.
Firefighters quickly took a defensive position on the fire because it was determined it wasn’t safe to send firefighters inside the burning 2-story home. The flames burned large holes in floor on the main level. The flames also threatened to burn through charged power lines into the home.
It took nearly an hour to completely extinguish the flames. No one was injured.
