An 84-year old man injured in an overnight fire died early this morning. Dispatchers received multiple calls reporting fire coming from a home in the 8500 block of 12th Avenue Northwest shortly before 10:00 p.m.  When firefighters arrived on scene, flames had engulfed the one story home from the basement to the attic. 

After the fire was knocked down, firefighters  found the elderly man unconscious in a bathroom. CPR was initiated and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.

Fire investigators determined that the accidental fire was caused by an electrical malfunction. Damage is estimated at $300,000.
