November 3—Seattle Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Team members secured a Phinney Ridge Starbucks after a truck plowed through the front of the coffee shop.
At 2:52 a.m., a 911 call came into dispatchers at the Fire Alarm Center reporting a pickup truck into the front of the Starbucks located at 316 N 67th Street. When firefighters arrived, no one was inside the vehicle. The truck had plowed 6 feet into the business and took down a supporting column.
Tech Rescue Team firefighters shored up the unreinforced brick masonry building before the tow-truck could pull the pickup out. Occupants are not allowed to reoccupy the building until an engineer can determine whether it’s structurally safe.
Seattle Police Officers are investigating the collision.
