SEATTLE – Beginning on September 18, Seattle Firefighters will be out on Seattle streets to collect donations for the annual Muscular Dystrophy Fill-the-Boot campaign. The Seattle Fire Department, Local 27 IAFF Firefighters Union and Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) are hosting a media event to kick-off this year’s campaign.
Media is invited to interview Seattle Fire Chief Harold Scoggins, Local 27 Union President Kenny Stuart, and MDA Executive Director Whitney Mcllwain. MDA’s National Ambassador, Joe Akmakjian, will also share his story on living with a life-threatening disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Firefighters will be on-site with boots in hand as a visual.
