September 20- Seattle Fire investigators determined a house fire in West Seattle was caused by the spontaneous combustion of paint rags. Shortly after 4:40 p.m., firefighters were called to the 3800 block of Boyd Place SW in West Seattle for reports of a deck fire. Engine 29 arrived to find smoke coming from the back of a three story home with the home’s alarm ringing.
Engine Company 32 searched the home but found no one was inside. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire within 10 minutes.
Damage was limited to the exterior of the home. Investigators estimate damage at $12,000.
