The Seattle Fire Alarm Center received a 911 call around 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon regarding smoke coming from the home. When Engine 24 arrived, firefighters reported seeing heavy smoke and flames coming from the one and a half story home. Firefighters quickly searched the smoke filled home for any residents but determined everyone was out.
Once the fire was knocked down, a Seattle Fire Investigator pinpointed the origin point to a first floor bathroom fan. The flames extended to an outside wall and into the attic. An investigator estimated damage at $75,000.
One firefighter was transported to Harborview Medical Center to be evaluated for a minor injury.
