April 26—Seattle Fire Investigators are still working to determine the cause of a morning fire at a Beacon Hill home. At 6:26 a.m., the Fire Alarm Center received a 911 call reporting light smoke coming from a one-story home with a daylight basement located in the 3900 block of 24th Avenue South.
The home was currently being remodeled, and the occupants were not home at the time of the fire. Firefighters had to make forcible entry into the house using fire saws to cut through a steal security door.
Once inside, firefighters found heavy smoke in the basement originating from a storage/workshop room in the basement. Crews were able to knock down the flames and contain the fire to the storage area.
Fire Investigators will continue to look into the cause of the fire. Damage estimates are $15,000 ot to home and contents.
