The first report of flames coming from the warehouse came at one minute before midnight. Engine Company 27 arrived in the 300 block of South Findlay Street to find flames from the side of the building and heavy smoke and fire inside the warehouse.
Firefighters made a forcible entry into the warehouse and attacked the flames from the inside. Ladder crews went to the roof to battle the fire from above. Due to the firefighter’s aggressive attack, flames were contained to one portion of the business.
No one was inside the building at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
The Seattle Fire Investigator estimates the dollar loss at $500,000 to the structure and $1,000,000 to the contents.
