October 9– Seattle Fire Investigators determined the cause of a 3-alarm fire in Laurelhurst was lacquer fumes ignited by a furnace. The fire is being called an accidental fire.
The damage estimate is more than 7 million dollars. This estimate includes the house under construction, the house to the south and it’s contents and the house to the north which suffered heat exposure on its side.
The injured painter is at Haborview Medical Center in the burn unit.
The firefighter who was transported from the scene for heat exhaustion was treated and released from Harborview Medical Center last night.
