The first 911 call came into the Fire Alarm Center at 3:54 a.m. reporting flames coming from the front door and the roof of a two-story home. Central District’s Engine Company 6 arrived to find everyone safely out of the building and fire coming from the attic. Ladder Company 3 conducted a search of the building and did not find anyone inside. Those firefighters headed to the roof and cut holes in order to ventilate the hot gases and smoke coming from the building.
Firefighters controlled the flames within 10 minutes of arriving on scene. Within 15 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished.
The fire investigator estimates the damage at $50,000 loss to the structure and $10,000 loss to the contents.
The Seattle Police Department Arson Bomb Squad is now investigating the suspicious fire as arson.
