March 2- Seattle Fire Investigators determined juveniles playing with fireworks are to blame for an explosion and fire at a temple located in the 3500 block of South Graham Street. The fire is being ruled as accidental.
At 11:09 a.m. the Fire Alarm Center received a call regarding a fire alarm activating at the temple located in South Seattle. Engine Company 28 arrived to find a small room fire that the buildings sprinklers extinguished.
Medics treated and transported a 12-year-old boy to Harborview Medical Center after he suffered second and third degree burns to his face and hands. He was in critical condition.
The fire investigator determined the explosion was caused by juveniles playing with fireworks and black powder. The force of the blast damaged windows and doors to the building. The damage estime is $10,000 to the strucure and $2,000 to the contents.
