SEATTLE – On Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 2200 block of NE 83rd St. for a residential fire confined to a single room.
When fire crews arrived, they found smoke and flames visible from the south end bedroom. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. The occupants safely evacuated the home, and no injuries were reported.
Fire Investigation Unit members ruled the fire as accidental and determined the cause was an overheated electrical cord. The estimated loss is $65,000.
