Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from the roof of the building. Firefighters immediately began applying water on the fire with hoses and ladder trucks. Approximately 25 minutes after the first engine company arrived on scene, the fire was upgraded to a two-alarm fire, bringing in additional units. At the height of the fire, there were a total of 31 fire apparatus, to include 10 engine companies and six ladder trucks.
An approximately 35-year-old female was transported by a Seattle Fire Medic Unit to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. Medics came in contact with the woman outside of the building, and provided medical assessment and treatment.
Fire investigators were called to the scene to investigate the fire cause, origin and estimated loss. The cause of the fire was ruled undetermined by investigators. The fire started in the lounge area of the building. Total estimated loss is $500,000 to the structure.
