At 10:39 a.m., the Fire Alarm Center received a 911 call reporting an adult male who was down the side of the steep hillside. Firefighters initiated a low-angle rope rescue operation. A group of firefighters hiked down to the patient and loaded him in a stokes basket. Above, firefighters rigged a series of ropes to pull the stokes basket up a steep hillside and up to the park above.
Paramedics evaluated the patient and found he had no signs of injuries other than complaining of being cold. The man told paramedics he had been down the hillside all night. A Medic Unit transported the male in his 30’s to Harborview in stable condition.
