Seattle — At 9:15 a.m., the Seattle Fire Department’s Fire Alarm Center received 911 calls reporting a fire at a residence in the 8100 block of 16th Ave. SW, in the Delridge neighborhood. Engine 11 was the first crew on scene and they reported smoke showing from outside the building. While assessing the building, they found two occupants in the back of the home needing help to evacuate. Firefighters rescued both occupants while additional crews entered the home to put water on the fire and search for a third occupant who may still be inside.
Paramedics transported both occupants/patients to a hospital for further care. The patients are:
- An approx. 60-year-old male in critical condition
- An approx. 60-year-old female in stable condition
Firefighters had the fire under control by 9:32 a.m. They conducted multiple searches in the home and did not find a third occupant. Crews are conducting extensive overhaul and continuing to search the home due to excessive furniture and debris spread throughout.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
