Seattle — At 2:46 p.m. on September 6, the Seattle Fire Department’s Fire Alarm Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a fire in a building located at 1st Ave. NE and NE 112th St. in the Northgate neighborhood. Engine 31 was the first unit on scene and reported a working fire in a vacant apartment building.
At 2:59 p.m., Battalion Chief 6 upgraded the response to a 2-alarm fire to request additional resources. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control by 3:28 p.m., and by 3:32 p.m., the fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported.
In total, approximately 92 firefighters responded to the scene including eleven engines, six ladder trucks, Rescue Company 1, and additional support and command staff.
The cause of this fire is under investigation.
