Restaurant fire in Green Lake neighborhood ruled accidental

SEATTLE, Wash. — At 3:27 a.m. on Nov. 13, the Seattle Fire Department’s Fire Alarm Center received 911 calls reporting smoke coming from inside a restaurant on the 7200 block of E. Green Lake Dr. N.

When crews arrived on scene, they saw black smoke coming from a second-floor window and flames on the roof. Firefighters accessed the building and the roof and found a working fire in the kitchen. Initial reports indicated the fire had spread from the ground floor to the void space (cockloft) between the ceiling and roof.

Within 30 minutes, crews had the fire under control, and the fire was extinguished just after 4:30 a.m. Investigators ruled the fire as accidental, likely caused by faulty electrical.

No injuries were reported.
